The regulation of hunting is an exclusive competence of the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat), which establishes the species that may be hunted and hunting seasons. The Catalan government also approves the technical plans for the management of private hunting areas (APCs), and authorises wild boar battues and all aspects related to the activity of hunting.

Since creation of the Park, the management body and administrations concerned have worked towards a restrictive regulation of hunting on Collserola. The aim of this position is to ensure the conservation of its fauna and, at the same time, avoid situations of risk and conflict with Park inhabitants and the ever-growing number of visitors.
